About
Hello, my name is Hillary and I’m the maker behind Messy Missy Ceramics; a small batch ceramics studio based in South East London.
I create playful, wheel-thrown pottery designed to bring joy to everyday rituals, from your morning coffee to winding down with incense at the end of the day. Each piece is handmade in my little garden studio, where flowing stripes, tactile swirls and joyful patterns come together across mugs, bud vases, incense holders and small dishes.
Pottery began unexpectedly for me after leaving university and feeling unsure about my future. What started as a creative outlet quickly became something I fell completely in love with, eventually growing into Messy Missy Ceramics.
Messy Missy Ceramics is proud to be a The King's Trust supported business, and I’m also a Young Ambassador for the organisation, helping encourage other young people to pursue their creative paths.
Today, I still make every piece by hand in small batches predominantly on the wheel — no two are ever exactly the same, which is part of the beauty of handmade ceramics.
